Nurses

Our two practice nurses provide nursing services at the surgery. This includes cervical smears, blood pressure measurement, blood tests, dietary advice, wound dressings, removal of stitches, B12 injections. The practice nurses co-ordinate the review and management of patients with diabetes, ischaemic heart disease and hypertension, in addition to running asthma and other clinics. Appointments with the practice nurses can be made by our reception staff.

We have a secretary, reception team leader and a team of receptionists.

Reception

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Our pharmacist is very experienced and extensively trained.

Attached Staff

Ms Jen Learmonth

Jen is our Link Worker attached to the practice. Jen is a generalist social practitioner. She can help patients with many issues including dementia, unpaid carers, bereavement, housing issues, confidence building, benefits, financial difficulties, social isolation, frailty. Discuss any issues with a GP or nurse who can then refer you to Jen.
